hey gracegotbuns remember like a year ago when i said i’d write you a stargazing thing and then that never happened? i was going through my drafts folder and found the thing and remembered and finally finished it. sorry about that. also sorry it turned out angsty i was going for fluff but then sads happened? but we all know they get a happy ending irl so that’s okay probably. i am very tired so i will end ramble and probably go to bed.
a heads up: in the interests of not getting sucked into scrolling my dash on the occasion that i log in to check something i am ruthlessly unfollowing most of who i’d been following (i’ll likely just unfollow all of them eventually, but some i want to bookmark to check up on occasionally). if i have unfollowed you, it is nothing personal!

The air was thick with the souls of the fallen, and were the Valkyrie here to gather warriors for Odin’s Einherjar she would reap a rich harvest indeed. But no, her appointed task was far less easy. Far more… vexing.
“But why can’t I choose from the shieldmaidens of Asgard? What benefit could mortals possibly afford us?”
The All-Mother smiled, mischief in her eyes belying wisdom. “I have my reasons. The time is nigh to when the Valkyrior must ride again. You’ve put your task off long enough.”
The angry tension holding the Valkyrie’s every sinew tight betrayed her insolence.
“Child, there’s a war on down there. If you can’t find any worthy women, it’s because you aren’t looking.”
“Where exactly would you have me start searching? War engulfs all their realm now, or so I’ve heard.”
The smile returns, wider. “Simple - follow the explosions.” She flicks her hands open gleefully. “Ka-boom!”

i am hashing out a mmfr/marvel crossover. it is complicated because of course it is, this is why i can’t have nice things. which is to say, the most dead-obvious cast insertions are thus: furiosa becomes the winter soldier, and the valkyrie becomes the (other) valkyrie. each of these on their own could work pretty easily. both together? probably not a good life decision. i am doing it anyway.
so i’m gonna write pieces to try to hash out my vague ideas (something something let’s rip off the plot of fearless defenders and awkwardly superimpose it on mcu winter soldier but also make shit up wholesale regarding the infinity stones and i have no idea what i’m doing but it’ll probably be pretty cool if i manage to pull it off), and i’m gonna post these super rough bits here because idk i want attention. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
in addition to the above - eventual furiosa/valkyrie, immortan joe is the red skull, the keeper is tentatively the all-mother, i guess the organic mechanic being zola makes sense?? toast and capable probably join the valkyrior. working title is “plus all the ones i forgot”. as this would imply it’s prolly gonna mostly focus on furiosa.
i guarantee nothing re: writing quality of the snippets, nor cohesiveness of them as a group. also don’t assume that pieces will be in order. or show up in the final thing if that ever actually happens. um. yeah. this is probably a bad idea but i’m doing it anyway. hopefully it will be fun. first piece will go up in a few once i check it over for grammar etc. it’s actually val-centric, since i’m working out backstory of how she met furiosa.
